Author's Foreword In the modern era, children and adolescents spend most of their lives in the constant flow of visual media. It is impossible to ignore the profound and comprehensive impact of these contents on their participation in leisure activities, values, and skills. In the meantime, "cartoons" as one of the most attractive, accessible, and effective media formats for this group of people is not only a fun activity, but also a dynamic and powerful "educational text." This visual text, by utilizing the universal language of visuals, humor, brevity, and emotion, can penetrate the deepest layers of the mind and emotions of children and adolescents and record lasting messages in it. The present book, entitled "The Role of Cartoons in Teaching Life Skills and Its Impact on Students' Individual and Social Adaptation," aims to move beyond a critical and divisive perspective on the media to an active, creative, and practical approach to this phenomenon. This education, through the media, explores how it can affect the most important components of students' psychosocial development, namely their "individual adaptability" and "social adaptability." The present work attempts to provide a theoretical and practical framework for researchers, educators, administrators, parents, and children's content producers, as a guide for "active reading" and "purposeful use" of cartoon works. It is hoped that this book will be a small step towards intelligently utilizing media opportunities to raise a generation that is capable, adaptable, and armed with the essential skills for life in the 21st century.
